Lincoln Travel Agency launches fund to help war-displaced Ukrainians

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Executive Travel in Lincoln is launching a relief fund to help those displaced by war in Ukraine. Operation Safe Harbor Ukraine (OSHU) partners with individuals, businesses and churches wishing to ensure that their support goes to a deserving foundation.

OSHU is an emergency effort to provide housing, food and medical supplies to 200 Ukrainian refugees in April in hopes that it can be extended and expand based on successful fundraising efforts. Executive Travel has pledged to match a donation of $25,000 to launch the operation. They plan to cover travel costs for staff and volunteers to hold their volunteer activities in Warsaw, Poland at a Best Western hotel.

“For the past four weeks I have watched in horror the tragedy in Ukraine. Millions of Ukrainians have fled to Poland and many of them are now refugees without shelter, food, toiletries and medicine,” he said. said Steve Glenn, president of Executive Travel.

The company has launched a new website that includes a tax-exempt donation link, with 100% of the proceeds going to efforts in Ukraine. OSHU hopes to raise up to $85,000 a month to cover the cost of hotel rooms, food and medicine for 200 Ukrainians.
