Qantas to Deploy IATA Digital Health Pass
Australian airline Qantas Airways plans to roll out the International Air Transport Association’s digital health pass once scheduled international flights Qantas and Jetstar resume.
The airline said in its press release that it will proceed with obtaining the IATA pass after months of testing several digital solutions on Qantas international repatriation flights.
Based on its statement, the IATA Travel Pass verifies a user’s COVID-19 test results and vaccination information. The app can store their test reports downloaded from certified diagnostic labs which users can present, along with their vaccination certificate, to authorities before their flight.
Additionally, the app compares a traveler’s health information to a specific flight; checks the entry conditions of the country of destination; and provides travel authorization to the traveler and the airline.
“[The] IATA Travel Pass offers an advantage over other solutions in that the app allows travelers to create a digital ID derived from a government-issued document, such as a passport. This means that airlines and governments can have complete confidence in the results of tests or vaccines both in terms of content and identity, ”said Nick Careen, IATA SVP for Operations, Safety and Security.
Qantas said the latest development work is currently underway to prepare the app for use before international flights resume.
“We want our international flights to be back in the air and our employees back to work and a digital health pass will be a key part of that. Many governments already require proof of vaccine or a negative COVID-19 test result for international travel. “said Stephanie Tully, director of customer service at Qantas Group.
iXensor develops a COVID-19 data management platform
Taiwanese mobile health company iXensor has introduced a cloud-based solution to manage COVID-19 data.
The PixoHealth Pass Admin is both an app and a web portal for screening and verifying COVID-19 health conditions by scanning the QR code from a user’s PixoHealth Pass mobile app. The web-based platform synchronizes COVID-19 health data and rapid test results from PixoHealth Pass and PixoTest POCT Analyzer users, fully digitizing data management processes.
Additionally, the data management system allows organizations to configure access management rules based on health data to prevent SARS-CoV-2 from causing cluster infections.
In a statement, iXensor said its latest solution is helping to streamline COVID-19 testing and point-of-entry screening for semi-closed communities, such as schools, businesses, healthcare facilities and healthcare organizations. public health.
The company is also developing a rapid test called PixoTest POCT COVID-19 Antigen Test which can now detect various variants of SARS-CoV-2, including Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta.
“The COVID-19 rapid antigen test with an integrated data management solution provides the exact security mechanism required to protect homes, schools, businesses and communities from new outbreaks,” said the president of iXensor, Dr Peter Fitzgerald.
