Royal Jordanian will introduce the IATA Travel Pass
AMMAN – The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has announced the intention of Royal Jordanian (RJ) to “gradually” implement the IATA Travel Pass. In a statement on Wednesday, IATA Director General Willie Walsh said the IATA Travel Pass is a health certificate that will enter the operational phase after months of testing.
Walsh said the digital wallet solution has “proven its effectiveness in managing and organizing travelers’ health data,” a measure required by governments around the world, the Jordan News Agency reported quoting the release. .
The world’s largest airlines will soon provide the IATA Travel Pass service to travellers, he said, noting that the pass will reduce airline and airport congestion.
IATA has launched an app through mobile phones called (IATA Travel Pass) that highlights a set of travel requirements, which helps travelers present their verified travel health credentials (vaccine certificates or testing) to meet COVID-19 entry restrictions.
More than 52 countries around the world have operated the new online service, according to IATA.
